K'Sante: Dominating Solo Queue

With Patch 13.21 bringing a series of substantial buffs to K'Sante's abilities—his passive, Q, W, and R—it's no surprise that this champion has surged in popularity, now boasting a win rate that hovers around 52%.

Riot Games recognized the need for adjustments and rolled out the following change:

Q - Ntofo Strikes: The minimum cast time bonus health requirement has been increased from 1200 to 1600.

The most noteworthy improvements were made to his passive, Dauntless Instinct, despite a reduction in mark damage from 130% total in All Out to 35% in the rework. Although this buff might appear modest when viewed in isolation, its true strength becomes evident when considering how it complements the new cooldown refund mechanics on his Ultimate, All Out, and his Q, Ntofo Strikes. Combined with the permanent slows from his Q, K'Sante's damage output has become far more consistent, especially against agile enemy carries.

This has made K'Sante considerably more accessible for the average player, as they no longer have to rely on complex, near-instantaneous combos like the infamous W+Q3+R, which demanded precise mechanical execution and low ping.

In a League of Legends meta where shields reign supreme as the primary form of damage mitigation, with most bruisers adopting Sterak's Gage and even fighters building around shield mechanics, alongside enchanters enhancing shields through their items, receiving the full healing from All Out has become a game-changer for K'Sante during skirmishes. Every use of his R now presents less of a risk, offering increased survivability.

Nevertheless, the most significant buff comes in the form of K'Sante receiving additional Attack Damage from items such as Gargoyle Stoneplate and, to a lesser extent, Jak'Sho. Gargoyle Stoneplate has become an essential purchase for this champion. Its passive, which grants extra Armor and Magic Resist when surrounded by enemies, synergizes brilliantly with K'Sante's kit, boosting his damage output to new heights.

All these factors combined have propelled K'Sante from the lowest win rate among top lane champions to the highest win rate practically overnight. This newfound balance promises to reshape the champion's role and position in the League of Legends landscape.

Ivern and Daisy Working Together

Ivern also got some love in the hotfix:

  • Bugfix: Fixed a bug that would cause Rift Herald to ignore Daisy and aggro Ivern instead. No longer will Daisy go unnoticed. We love you Daisy.

We hope to see Ivern gain more popularity as the Enchanter buff in Patch 13.21 could bring The Green Father back on the Rift.

How the Community is Reacting to the K'Sante Changes

K'Sante has been a target of complaints, alluding to the infamous ShowMaker copypasta, being deemed one of the most overpowered and overtuned champions Riot Games has released recently. Players would be quick to point out that he is getting new skin released soon so Rioters intentionally buffed him.

Hecarim buffs

Hecarim is getting buffs this patch

First, let's talk about Master Yi. The adjustments to the Pet AD ratio and the modifications to Avatar Upgrades have undeniably diminished the effectiveness of the Wuju Bladesman. Notably, the removal of tenacity in the Mosstomper upgrade has restricted his ability to play aggressively against teams with hard crowd control compositions.

To compensate for these losses, Master Yi's Wuju Style (E) cooldown is being significantly reduced.

The second champion slated for buffs is Bel’Veth. While these enhancements are relatively minor, they mainly focus on reducing the cooldown of her Royal Maelstrom (E). These changes should provide her with a welcome boost and help her reach a more favorable position.

Moving on to the third champion, Hecarim, we're witnessing an improvement in his Attack Damage Growth and an extension of the Spirit of Dread (W) duration. These buffs to Hecarim are well-justified, considering that a substantial portion of his power was stripped away when Gustwalker and Water Walking were nerfed.

Lastly, Morgana, the final jungler to receive buffs, is still not where Riot intended her to be after the previous patch's adjustments. Consequently, they are committed to persistently fine-tuning her, pushing for the changes they believe are necessary.

  • [W] Tormented Shadow buffs
  • Damage per tick increased 6/11/16/21/26 >>> 6/11.5/17/22.5/28
  • Monster damage ratio increased 165% >>> 170%
